The goal of the Midwestern Council
Vintage Historic Racing program is to provide a fun,
safe venue for easy enjoyment of the
great racing cars of our past, and for drivers for whom
the thrill of a skillful drive and close dice is more
important than another trophy.
Stewarding is tight in this series,
following the basic rule of “Gentleman’s (or
Gentlewoman’s) Racing.” Cars built and prepared to
pre-1975 levels are eligible to compete. Vintage cars
compete on treaded, DOT approved tires. Participation is
open to MC Competition License holders as well as
license holders from other recognized groups such as
SCCA, VSCDA, SVRA, VARA or VMC.
Both Vintage/Historic and Current
Era groups compete at all Midwestern Council race
events. Required safety equipment for both Current Era
and Vintage/Historic racers include roll bars, fire
extinguishers, competition seat belts and harnesses,
driver’s suits, and approved helmet. Full information on
classes and required equipment is found in the
Midwestern Council General Competition Regulations rule
book.
